There
comes a time when the old tried and true just doesn’t
work anymore. When it’s time to cast off the
shackles of the past, shift the paradigm, thinkout
of the box, dump the old clichés….
That
time came for us and spurred us to leave the security
of our old jobs and venture into the unknown.
But we had good reason - you see we had an idea,
a vision if you will, for creating the Ultimate
group for Cessna owners and pilots. An association
that would bring together the best member magazine
with the best technical support, the best websites
and the best people.
We
believed that the way to make this dream a reality
was with a brand new group, run by a company solely
devoted to aviation, where your dues are put to
work for you. A group we’ve named the Cessna
Flyer Association.
In
this magazine in the coming months and years we
plan to bring you many interesting and informative
articles, written by the experts you’ve
come to rely on, such as Thomas Block, Michael
Leighton, Daryl Murphy and John Ruley. We’ll
also bring you some great new (to us) voices—Kevin
Garrison, Dale Smith and others. In addition and
most importantly, we want your input, your stories—both
funny and serious, your tips and ideas.
Many
of our old friends and supporters will be helping
out with our upcoming events. Already planned
for this fall is a fly-in and engine seminar hosted
by Penn Yan Aero. That’s just for starters;
we’re already planning many additional events,
including fly-ins, seminars, gatherings and more.
Check the calendar of events in this magazine
and online for details.
Our
websites will provide you with solid technical
information and member only forums and the Cessna
Flyer magazine online. Click on to take quizzes
and surveys and to hear the sound clip of the
week. Coming in the near future will be online
weather and flight planning.
Call
us with your technical questions and part locating
challenges. We’re assembling a team of technical
advisers with very impressive resumes. We want
to help you get the most out of owning and flying
your Cessna.
What
we want most, however, is to hear from you. We
have a lot of years of combined experience of
listening to owners and pilots. Our experience
is what led us to start this venture to bring
you more of the things you want and less of the
things you don’t and we want you to continually
keep us on track.
We
know you have many choices of where to spend your
money – lots of magazines, clubs and organizations.
We hope to make the decision easier for you by
providing the “Ultimate Association for
Cessna Flyers.”
