Franklin 6A 335 B engine
3 months 1 week ago #1974 by Charles Gill
I have a Franklin 6a 335 B engine in my 1962 Cessna 175C with a constant speed prop. I am still playing with it to determine best speed for fuel burn. Does anyone have any experience with this engine in a 175 or 172? What is the best MP/RPM combinations and what is the expected fuel burn. I have been burning about 10.2 gal/hr while cruising at 135 mph at around 5000 to 7500 feet altitude. normally running 23 to 24 MP with 2400 to 2600 RPM. Any suggestions appreciated.
