Thanks for the reply.
I changed out the gaskets on the gas caps and placed the vents directly behind the struts and this seems to have cured the problem.

Not an A/P but have some experience w/ this model. The vent location is called out to .002 in the service manual. It is that important. Have your A/P check the vent positioning as this is not owner permitted maintenance. Vents are often distorted when folks use them as grab points for some reason.

Also check the rudder trim to ensure zero trim conforms to a zero trim indication on the console scale. Check the Turn Coordinator to see it is dead bang level too.

I have an issue that just started this weekend. The left wing tank is emptying quicker than the right. It is also pushing the fuel to the right tank and out the vent, cap and access plate. I've tried adjusting the vents and looked at other 182's at my airport, some vents seem to behind the strut and some in the air flow. The tanks will equalize after sitting a while.
I'm going to try both vents out of the air flow next. Any suggestions?
