Hi Steve,

Good luck, methinks you've finally found it. :) I've got my fingers crossed, lol.

Sorry to insist. If you check the fuel from the strainer and the selector to the right it is not sure that the fuel is coming from the right reservoir.
As there presists a mistery    , I would repeat the test of the strainer with the selector to the right but.....with the right reservoir empty. After a while when the residual fuel exit you should not find any flow from the strainer

All. Here is the latest! We de-fueled the left tank, at the fuel strainer. We then turned the fuel selector to the right tank and lo and behold we had fuel flow! So this means that there is fuel draining from the right tank. When the fuel selector is in the off position the is no flow. So our - the A&P and myself- best thought is that there is a vent/ pressurization problem on the left tank. We checked the vent height on 2 other 182 P models, at the airport, and found that my vent was significantly closer to the wing then the others. We adjusted the vent to match the other P models - I'm going to fly it tomorrow and see what happens.
I'l let you know the outcome!
thanks again to all for the help.

Hi Steve,

About two months ago I sent you a message from our A&P Steve Ells about the vent system, see message above. Did you check on the vent system? What did you find out?

Best,
