August 2014- Q: Hi Steve,
I want to upgrade to a Cessna 182. My A&P, who I trust, called to tell me that he has found a very well-equipped 182. He's trying to talk me into buying it.
The airplane has two Garmin GPS navigators (a 530 and a 430) has a recently rebuilt engine with new cylinders, and the paint and interior are top-notch. It's got everything on my buy list, but there's one big catch: it's being sold by an insurance company because the owner bent the firewall during landing. Fortunately, the prop did not hit.
Should I go for it?
